Finally I have some time for another post. My mind has been full of completely different tasks than photography in previous 2 months. Our appartment will undergo a reconstruction and it came to a phase when we are searching skilled and capable specialists on floors, heating, doors, walls aso. We will be glad if the appartment will be ready for living in October so it can be expected that I will not post very often until that time.

Moreover, this year’s weather is really strange here. First we had quite cold and wet spring, than summer finally arrived with 2 or 3 weeks of extremely hot temperatures (even 100 year old temperature records have been exceeded) and now it’s 3rd week of cold and damp misery outside again. It’s like the end of September and not July. Fortunately I still have some unprocessed photos that I can post when time permits.

Following photo was taken some 2 months ago and I really like the dull and cold atmosphere in it as it echos current weather.

I hope you like it and wish you nice warm summer as it should be!

Technical information: the photo above was taken with Canon EOS 450D camera and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens, mounted on tripod, under natural conditions, taken outside in shadow.

I like the image. The bright, warm petal against the cool bg. Lovely lines. Simple.
Sounds like you will have a wonderful apartment when all the work is finished. It will be a difficult few months until then. Hope all goes well. We are doing some home improvement also, but not to the extent you are.

Thanks Anita. The improvements we are going to do are a bit complicated by the fact that the rooms which will undergo reconstruction are still occupied. We live with my in-laws in a family house and we plan to exchange our appartments with them and completely remake them. The worst work will be building a completely new children room from current attic. I hope everything will go well.

Lovely ‘artsy’ presentation here with wonderful complimentary colors. I know what it’s like to be uprooted and we are not settled yet, but I have started carrying my small G10 camera with me so I can train my eye to spot good potential images – I need to get back to work, huh?
You may not be able to do flowers but there might be some other things that catch your eye during this time. Best of luck!

Barbara, thank you for your supportive comment. The “problem” was that I really had my mind full of various things (colours, paints, floors, bed shapes, sofas aso.) that there was simply no space for photography and I evendidn’t care because I knew it will be soon over and then I’ll be able to focus on taking photos again. Now when most things are decided I have a bit of time for my photography again.

Top compact cameras such as G10 are great for capturing moments when your DSLR is not at hand. Very handy thing!

Pretty curves and color contrast. I like the F4 “open” look as well.

The weather here has been odd as well. Our spring came early and was really wet, summer started very green, but now it’s drying out from too much sun. Hot and brown now, like a warm fall.

Welcome back, Tomas! I haven’t been feeling up to much photography, either.

With the simply composition and only two colors, this image has a nice abstract quality to it.

Good luck with the renovation!
